Viewing Event Record: Henslowe lends 40s to William Borne to pay for a play by 'Maxton' [Marston], a new playwright

Abstract

Henslowe lends William Borne 40s to give to the new playwright, 'Mr Maxton' [later corrected to 'Marstone], 'in earneste of a book.' This is one of the entries identified by Greg (Henslowe's Diary, p xliii) as a Collier forgery.
